You never know what’s going on in someone’s head. When you glimpse it, or think you do, it’s thrilling. Like, for instance, when Obama ordered the raid on Bin Laden’s house. Later, I think that night, he went to the press correspondent’s dinner, where he laughed and joked and had to deal with Donald Trump’s ugly mug scowling at him. It’s hard to look at his [Obama’s] face without wondering what he must have been thinking ~ how he didn’t just scream – “listen, bitches, I’ve got bigger things to worry about than your birther bullshit!” I think the same about GW Bush – I was no fan of his but that he maintained any kind of composure and what seemed to be a fairly breezy demeanour is a miracle to me. Anytime I know something that other people don’t, well, I’m no President, but I think about people like that, and how hard it must be not to spill your guts, just to have it out on the table…
